Bridal shower

Wedding season has begun!! It’s time to wear fancy outfits,  eat loads of delicious food, dance with family, laugh with friends and devour sweet desserts!!

One of my friend is getting married this summer and I had the chance to attend her Kate Spade inspired bridal shower.  I love it when the bridal showers are geared towards the Bride’s personality, in this case, bright, bold, bubbly and fun!!

The adorable backdrop flowers were all made by the bride’s sister-in-law.

Polka dot table clothes and fresh flowers were used to add patterns. They also displayed cute napkins that say “He asked, she said YES!”.

How adorable are these place mats? Absolutely love them!!

Of course the straws used for refreshing drinks had patterns and bows on them.

The gifts were all wrapped and displayed on the “Gifts and Cards” table.

(How adorable is that blue wrapping? :p)

The games area was decorated with a black and white Kate Spade table cloth and pink/gold accessories.  A few of the activities included:

Guess the number of kisses in the jar

Advice for the bride-to-be

Write a letter to the bride and specify the date of opening

Off the market – list items with highest to lowest price

Cannot say the name of the bride, or the word “bride”

Design a toilet paper dress (I won! Hehe!)

There were a lot of desserts and food items, but all of us got hungry before we could take pictures.

Note to self: Arrive early and take pictures first.

This stunning cake was also baked and decorated by the bride’s sister-in-law!! The top layer was chocolate, and the bottom was tiramisu!! (Yes, I ate both pieces!! Yum!)

Oh, and how cute is this little shoe bank? I really need to get one for my shoe fund!!

Hope you enjoyed these pictures!!

I’m still looking for the pink shoe bank!! 🙂

Floral All Over!!

Fort Langley in BC is a cute little village.  It has a population of approximately 3,400 residents.  Travelling back to the 1800’s, this quaint village is worth seeing.  We walked by boutique shops, ate at unique restaurants, and had a latte at this cute little cafe.  I wore a cute yellow dress with floral all over and a little romantic frill at the bottom.

Denim on Denim

A denim jacket is the perfect accessory to your denim jeans and a casual top.  It’s always a challenge being comfortable and chic while traveling.  We walked a lot in Vancouver city around the harbor where I saw the pixel whale and had dinner at cactus club while watching a beautiful sunset. We also walked through Gas town.  Several cute boutique stores and restaurants set a European vibe in this town along with the cobble stone roads.  I also saw the famous steam clock here.

I’ve linked a few comfortable items for a day of walking in the links below.

Casual days!

Vancouver`s beautiful Stanley Park is 405-hectare of luscious greenery bordering Vancouver downtown.  It`s surrounded by waters of Vancouver Harbour and English Bay.  It`s a beautiful area for picnics, running trails, a seawall and beautiful sunsets.  It was raining a lot in BC (surprise!) during my visit but we made a quick trip out to Stanley Park.  Lions Gate Bride, photographed in the pictures below, connects the city of Vancouver with North Vancouver.

If you ever go to BC, schedule a day in for Stanley Park.

Cherry Blossoms!

Blooming cherry blossom is the prettiest time during spring.  The trees are covered with gorgeous white or pink blooms.  Cherry Blossom season is usually in late April or early May in Toronto.  A few areas to see cherry blossoms in Toronto are High Park, Robarts Library, Trinity Bellwoods Park, or Centre Island Park.  There are also a few parks in Burlington and Oakville.  It felt surreal to walk through these beautiful paths covered with cherry blossoms.  I hope you got to see some cherry blossoms this spring!! It’s a beautiful sight!!
